How to Select a Mothers Day Gift

With Mothers Day just around the corner, I thought I would take a few minutes to give you some tips on how to choose a gift for your mom. People tend to get really stressed when they start thinking about what to get their mom as a gift. The most important thing to remember when selecting a gift for your mom is to think about your moms favorite things to do, and her personality. The first thing I would do when I was working as a personal shopper is ask the client what the gift recipient, in this case your mom, what she likes to do with her free time. Does she like to go to movies? How bout tickets to the movie theater she likes to frequent. Does she like to go get a manicure? Why not get her a gift card to the local spa for a day of pampering.

Another thing you could consider is her hobbies. Does she like to read, or is she a sports enthusiast? Buy her a new book, or something that will help her to pursue her sport. Most people love to talk about their hobbies, this is a great way of getting her to tell you what she wants. Use this as an opportunity to be creative, and you can do this on any budget. For example, if your mom loves to garden, you could buy her a new pair of gardening gloves, a beautiful perennial to plant in her garden, or a weekend away to visit the gardens of a favorite place.

Finally, time is the one thing all moms love. If you can’t be with her on Mothers Day, how bout facetiming her, or sending her a handmade card? The gift all moms want? Your time.
